The Padstow Mussel Co. was launched in 2005 by renowned local artist and designer Susie Ray. This family run business, in the heart of Padstow, provides lifestyle products and artwork inspired by Cornwall. Everything the shop sells is created by Susie herself or is made from her own designs by local crafts people where ever possible.
Susie draws inspiration for the products from the rockpools, beaches, coves and sand dunes around Padstow and the local area.
The Padstow Mussel Co. is about creating a range of high quality products that have Cornwall at their heart, that you can’t find anywhere else, other than our website or our online shop.
About Susie Ray
Raised on the Cornish coast Susie’s fascination with the beach started from the moment she could walk. Growing up spending her time in rock pools and strand lines developed a passion for the sea and sparked her inspiration to becoming be an artist.
Having completed an art degree in London Susie then illustrated seashore guides for various publications before a successful career as a commercial artist. She returned to her roots in Cornwall to develop her painting, design and photography that reflect her Cornish lifestyle.
